The DC Preservation League (DCPL) is an organization dedicated to preserving and protecting the historic resources of Washington, DC. Founded in 1977, the organization works to protect the city’s historic sites, buildings, and neighborhoods from both demolition and inappropriate development. DCPL is a non-profit, non-partisan organization that works with government, community, and business leaders to advocate for the preservation of the city’s architectural and cultural heritage.

The DC Preservation League educates the public about the importance of preserving the city’s historic sites. The organization provides a variety of educational programs, such as lectures, tours, and workshops. Additionally, the organization publishes a bi-annual newsletter that provides information on preservation topics and updates on the organization’s activities.

The DC Preservation League works to ensure that the city’s historic sites are preserved and protected. The organization has successfully advocated for the protection of numerous historic sites in the city, including the Old Post Office Building, the Lincoln Theatre, and the Heurich Mansion.

The organization works with local businesses and community groups to create programs that will help strengthen and revitalize these areas. By preserving the city’s historic sites, the organization helps to ensure that Washington, DC remains a vibrant and unique city that can be enjoyed by residents and visitors alike.
