The United States Capitol Historical Society (USCHS) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to educating the public about the history and heritage of the United States Capitol and the Congress. Founded in 1962, USCHS works to raise awareness of the Capitol's historic past, from its construction to the present day.

The USCHS has been instrumental in preserving, protecting and promoting the Capitol's history and heritage through a wide range of activities and projects. These include educational programs, publications, exhibitions, and lectures. The USCHS also works with other organizations, such as the Smithsonian Institution, to promote the history of the Capitol.

The USCHS publishes a quarterly magazine, The Capitol Dome, which covers the history of the Capitol and the Congress, as well as preserving and restoring the Capitol's artwork and artifacts. The USCHS also offers a variety of educational programs, from guided tours of the Capitol, to educational seminars, to lectures and special events.

In addition to its educational programs and publications, the USCHS also serves as a resource for researchers and scholars interested in the history and heritage of the Capitol and Congress. The USCHS maintains a library and archives, which includes a vast collection of documents and other artifacts related to the history of the Capitol and Congress.

The USCHS is headquartered in Washington, DC, and is open to the public. All proceeds from USCHS activities and publications are used to support its educational mission.
