The National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare (NCPSSM) is an independent, non-partisan organization based in Washington, DC that advocates for the preservation and strengthening of Social Security and Medicare benefits. Founded in 1982, NCPSSM is the only national organization dedicated solely to protecting and preserving these essential programs. The organization's main mission is to educate the public and policy makers about the importance of Social Security and Medicare and to advocate for their continued strength and solvency.

The NCPSSM works to ensure that both programs are properly funded and that individuals receive the benefits to which they are entitled. The organization also works to ensure that the programs are used to meet the needs of the current and future generations of retirees, disability beneficiaries, and their families. The NCPSSM also works to protect and expand Social Security and Medicare benefits for people of all ages, including those with disabilities, survivors, and dependents.

The NCPSSM is supported by over two million members and activists, as well as a network of affiliate organizations. The organization is led by Max Richtman, who has served as president and CEO since 2007. The NCPSSM engages in a variety of activities to advance its mission, including public education and outreach, coalition building, grassroots advocacy, and legislative and policy analysis. The organization works with Congress, the White House, and other federal agencies to ensure that Social Security and Medicare remain strong and viable.
