The Chain Bridge Road-University Terrace Preservation Committee (CBRUTPC) is a nonprofit organization that works to preserve the historic character of the Chain Bridge Road-University Terrace area in Washington, DC. The CBRUTPC is dedicated to the preservation of the area’s architectural, cultural, and historical resources through educational programming, research, and advocacy. The CBRUTPC works with local residents, businesses, and government agencies to ensure that the area’s unique character is protected and enhanced.

The CBRUTPC was founded in 1976 by local residents and business owners who wanted to preserve the area’s historic character and prevent development that would compromise its character. The CBRUTPC works with the DC Historic Preservation Office to ensure that proposed development projects are consistent with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation. The CBRUTPC also works with the DC Department of Transportation to ensure that any proposed road improvements are in keeping with the area’s historic character.

The CBRUTPC holds educational programming and workshops to inform local residents and businesses about the importance of preserving the area’s historic character. The CBRUTPC also works with local schools to develop educational programs that teach students about the area’s history and the importance of preservation.

The CBRUTPC is committed to preserving the unique character of the Chain Bridge Road-University Terrace area in Washington, DC. Through educational programming, research, and advocacy, the CBRUTPC works to ensure that the area’s architectural, cultural, and historical resources are protected and enhanced.
