The Smithsonian Institution, National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C. is one of the world’s largest art museums and research centers. Founded in 1829, it is the oldest federal cultural institution in the United States. Located on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., the museum houses over one million works of art spanning over 5,000 years of history.

The National Gallery of Art is free and open to the public and is open daily from 10 am to 5:30 pm. It is also accessible by public transportation, including the Metro and several bus lines. The museum is wheelchair accessible, and there are also audio guides available for visitors.
