The Smithsonian Institution Renwick Gallery in Washington D.C. is the national museum of American craft and decorative arts. It is the first art museum in the United States dedicated to exhibiting and collecting contemporary craft and decorative arts. The Renwick Gallery was designed in 1859 by James Renwick, Jr., a prominent American architect. The building is an example of Second Empire architecture and has been designated a National Historic Landmark. The gallery is home to an extensive collection of American craft and decorative art, ranging from 19th-century furniture and silver to contemporary sculpture and installations.

The Renwick Gallery offers a variety of educational programs and workshops, as well as lectures and performances. The museum also hosts a variety of special exhibitions, such as glassblowing demonstrations and artist talks. The Renwick Gallery also has a research library and archives, which are open to the public by appointment. The library contains a wide range of resources related to American craft and decorative arts, including books, journals, photographs, and manuscripts.

The Renwick Gallery is located in the heart of Washington D.C., directly across from the White House. It is easily accessible by public transportation and is open seven days a week. The museum also has a gift shop and a café, where visitors can purchase souvenirs and refreshments. The Renwick Gallery is a great place to explore and appreciate the art of American craftsmanship.
