The Sewall-Belmont House is located at 144 Constitution Avenue in Washington, DC. It is the former home of Alice Paul, a leader in the women’s rights movement, and serves as the headquarters for the National Woman’s Party. The house was built in 1804 by Samuel H. Sewall and remained in the family until 1929. In 1929, the house was purchased by Alva Belmont and renovated to become the headquarters for the National Woman’s Party. It was here that Alice Paul and the National Woman’s Party conducted their campaigns for the passage of the 19th Amendment and other causes related to women’s rights.

Today, the Sewall-Belmont House is a National Historic Landmark and is open to the public. Visitors can take guided tours or explore the house on their own. The house has been restored to its original appearance, with period furniture, artifacts, and photographs. It includes a library, museum, and archives, which are dedicated to the history of the women’s rights movement. The house also hosts a variety of events, including lectures, workshops, and concerts.
