FORT MILES HISTORIC DISTRICT
DOVER, DE
The Fort Miles Historic District, located in Dover, Delaware, is an important historical area. The site was constructed in 1941-1942 as part of the United States’ defense efforts during World War II. It was named after Major General Nelson A. Miles, who was the highest ranking officer of the US Army at the time. The area consists of a variety of buildings, including a large command post, barracks, storehouses, and artillery magazines.
