The Sealaska Heritage Institute (SHI) is a non-profit organization located in Juneau, Alaska. Founded in 1980, SHI works to promote and perpetuate the cultures, languages, and traditions of the Tlingit, Haida, and Tsimshian peoples of Southeast Alaska.

SHI provides a range of services including language and cultural revitalization, educational programs, and research. The institute offers language classes in Tlingit, Haida, and Tsimshian languages, as well as classes in traditional crafts such as wood carving, basketry, and weaving. SHI also offers classes in traditional dances, regalia making, and other cultural activities.

The institute works to preserve and protect the cultural resources of Southeast Alaska, such as totem poles, artifacts, and archaeological sites. SHI also works with local governments to protect traditional fishing, hunting, and gathering rights of the Tlingit, Haida, and Tsimshian peoples.

SHI also offers public programs and events such as the Sealaska Heritage Festival, held every June in Juneau. The festival features traditional music, dance, and storytelling performances, as well as art demonstrations and exhibits.

SHI is committed to preserving the cultures, languages, and traditions of the Tlingit, Haida, and Tsimshian peoples of Southeast Alaska. Through its educational and cultural revitalization programs, as well as its public events and activities, SHI works to ensure that the traditions of these peoples and the region continue to be valued and preserved.
