The Hale-Byrnes House, located in Newark, Delaware, was built in the late 1700s and is a National Historic Landmark. The house has a two-story brick-and-stone structure, with a single-story wing extending from the center of the main house. It is built in the Georgian-style, with a symmetrical five-bay façade and a roof with end chimneys. The entrance is located in the center of the façade and includes a fanlight above the door.

The interior of the house includes a central hall and four large rooms, two on each side. The walls are decorated with paneling, and the floors are original wide-plank pine. The house also includes a two-story kitchen wing and an attic with hand-hewn beams.

The Hale-Byrnes House has a long history and is a well-known landmark in Newark. It was originally built for Joseph Hale, a prominent lawyer and judge in the area, and his family. The house was passed down through several generations of the Hale-Byrnes family, and it has been used as a private residence, a schoolhouse, and a nursing home over the years. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.
