Historical Firsts Cultural Foundation Inc. in East Hartford CT is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting, preserving and celebrating the diverse cultures, history, and heritage of African Americans in the Greater Hartford area. Founded in 2020, the foundation has five core programs: 1) Education and Scholarship, which focuses on providing educational opportunities and scholarships to young people of color; 2) Arts and Culture, which supports artistic expression in the African American community; 3) Civic Engagement, which encourages civic participation and engagement; 4) Economic Empowerment, which provides resources to help African Americans build self-sustaining businesses; and 5) Health and Wellness, which focuses on providing healthcare access and resources to the African American community.
Historical Firsts Cultural Foundation Inc. works with local schools, churches, businesses, and community organizations to provide educational opportunities, cultural events, and resources to the African American community. The foundation also partners with local universities and colleges to provide scholarships to African American students. Additionally, the foundation holds annual fundraising events and workshops to support their programs.
The mission of Historical Firsts Cultural Foundation Inc. is to empower and connect African Americans in the Greater Hartford area and to promote a better understanding of African American culture and history. Through their programs, the foundation works to ensure that African Americans have access to the tools, resources, and opportunities they need to succeed and build a better future.
