The Submarine Force Museum in Groton, CT is dedicated to preserving the history of submariners and their vessels. It is the United States Navy’s official museum for submarines and submarine warfare. The museum is located on the Thames River in Groton, near the Naval Submarine Base New London.

The museum features exhibits on the history of submarine warfare, from the Revolutionary War to the present day. It features the first operational submarine in the United States, the USS Nautilus, which was the world’s first nuclear-powered submarine. Other exhibits include a re-creation of a submarine control room, a full-scale replica of the USS Seawolf, the first submarine to launch a missile in combat, and a memorial to the lost submarine USS Thresher.

The Submarine Force Museum also features a library, theater, and interactive displays. Visitors can explore the history of submarine warfare and learn more about submarines and their role in the military. The museum also has a gift shop, where visitors can purchase submarine-related souvenirs and apparel.

The Submarine Force Museum is open to the public, and admission is free. It is open Monday through Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
