The Vernon Historical Society Inc. is a non-profit organization located in Vernon, Connecticut. Founded in 1962, the Society is dedicated to preserving and celebrating the history of Vernon, Connecticut and the surrounding areas. The Society’s main goal is to collect, preserve, and interpret the history of the area and to provide educational opportunities and public programs related to local history.

The Society is run by a board of directors and is supported by volunteers and members. The Society's headquarters is located in the historic Rockville section of Vernon. In addition, the Society also maintains a museum in the historic Academy Building in Vernon. The building houses a variety of artifacts and documents relating to the history of Vernon and the surrounding towns, including photographs, records, letters, and other items.
