The Glenn Highway Scenic Byway Association Inc. in Eagle River, AK is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of the natural beauty and resources of the Glenn Highway Scenic Byway. The Byway runs from Anchorage to Valdez, and is the only highway in Alaska that offers spectacular views of the Chugach Mountains, the Matanuska Glacier, and the Copper River Valley. The Association works to protect the Byway, its resources, and its unique character by educating local residents and visitors about their importance, promoting responsible stewardship of the Byway and its resources, and encouraging the development of recreational and cultural activities that are compatible with the Byway’s scenic, cultural, and recreational values. The Association also works to maintain and improve the Byway’s infrastructure and promote economic development in the region through its partnership with local, state, and federal agencies, private organizations, and businesses. Through these activities, the Association seeks to ensure the Byway remains a destination for residents and visitors to enjoy for generations to come.
