The Franklin Historical Society Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of North Franklin, Connecticut and its surrounding area. Founded in 1957, the Society works to protect and promote the community’s rich history through a variety of programs, exhibits, lectures, and educational activities. The Society’s headquarters is a historic building located at the corner of Main Street and Franklin Avenue, which includes a museum and archives.
The museum houses permanent and rotating exhibits about North Franklin’s history, including artifacts, documents, photographs, and other materials. Exhibits focus on local topics such as the town’s factories and businesses, its fire companies, and its churches. The Society’s archives include original documents, photographs, and other materials pertaining to North Franklin and its surrounding area.
