The Treadwell Historic Preservation and Restoration Society Inc. (THPRS) is a non-profit organization with the mission of preserving and restoring the historic structures in Douglas, Alaska. The organization was founded in 2002 by a group of local citizens who wanted to ensure the preservation of the town's rich history. Through the years, the Society has made tremendous strides in saving the town's historic buildings and sites, and has also assisted in the revitalization of the town's downtown district.

The Society works to maintain the original character of the town's buildings and sites, and strives to ensure that the town's history is preserved for future generations. The Society also works to educate the public about the town's history, and organizes numerous events and activities to help educate the community about the town's past. These events and activities include tours of historic sites, lectures, and the presentation of historic photographs and artifacts.

The Society also works to restore and preserve the town's buildings and sites, and has sponsored numerous restoration projects. These projects have included the restoration of buildings and sites such as the Treadwell Mine, the Douglas Historical Museum, the Douglas Fish Hatchery, and the Douglas City Hall.

The Society also works to promote the growth and development of the town by encouraging the development of new businesses and encouraging the growth of existing businesses. The Society also works to attract new businesses to the area and promote the local economy.

In addition to its efforts in preserving and restoring the town's historic sites, the Society also works to preserve the natural beauty of the area by promoting the protection of wildlife, habitat, and streams. The Society also works to ensure that the town's natural resources are managed responsibly and that the environment is protected for future generations.
