The Gov. Trumbull House Museum in Lebanon, Connecticut is an 18th century colonial home owned by the Town of Lebanon and maintained by the Lebanon Historical Society. It is the only house museum in the state of Connecticut owned and operated by a municipality. The museum is located on a hill overlooking the town, and is a great example of the early American colonial architecture of the period.

The house was built in 1769 by Joseph Trumbull, the son of Jonathan Trumbull, the Revolutionary War governor of Connecticut. The house was used as the family residence until 1808, and then was passed down through the Trumbull family until it was sold to the town in 1976.

The museum offers a variety of educational programs and tours of the house, including guided tours of the house, a special tour of the gardens, and a special tour of the Governor’s Study. The museum also offers lectures, special events, and demonstrations of colonial life and crafts.

The Gov. Trumbull House Museum is an important part of Lebanon’s history and culture, and serves as a reminder of the town’s involvement in the Revolutionary War. The museum is open from April through October, and admission is free.
