The Hope and Sunrise Historical Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the history of the small town of Hope, Alaska. Located just outside of Anchorage, Hope is a community steeped in historical significance and the Hope and Sunrise Historical Society was founded to ensure that the community’s past is remembered and celebrated.

The Historical Society was established in 1998 and since then it has worked to maintain the town’s past by hosting events, organizing tours, and maintaining a museum and library. The Society also works to help protect the town’s natural environment, supporting the preservation of ancient fish runs and trails.

The Historical Society operates a museum in Hope which holds a range of artifacts and memorabilia from the town’s past including photographs, books, and artifacts from the early days of the town’s settlement. It also serves as a research center for visitors who want to learn more about the town’s history.

The Hope and Sunrise Historical Society also offers a range of educational programs and activities for both adults and children. Programs include lectures and discussions on the history of the town, as well as guided tours of the area.
