The Crow Canyon Archaeological Center is a non-profit research organization located in Cortez, Colorado. The Center was founded in 1983 and focuses on the study of ancestral Pueblo Indians who lived in the Four Corners region of the United States. The Center provides educational programs and research opportunities for adults, families and students of all ages.

The Center is located on a 170-acre property that is home to a variety of artifacts and sites that date back to the Ancestral Pueblo period (A.D. 950-1300). These include a reconstructed Pueblo village, a Great Kiva, a museum and a Gift Shop. Visitors can explore the property and learn about the history and culture of the Pueblo people through guided tours, interactive demonstrations, and hands-on activities.

The Crow Canyon Archaeological Center also offers a variety of educational programs for adults, families, and students. These programs include archaeological field experiences, student internships, and educational workshops. Mesa Verde National Park - Cliff Palace Mesa Verde National Park is located in southwestern Colorado. The park was created by President Theodore Roosevelt in 1906. The park occupies 52,485 acres and contains more than 4,300 sites, including 600 cliff dwellings. It is the largest archaeological preserve in the US. Cliff Palace is the largest cliff dwelling in North America. The structure was built by the Ancestral Puebloans. It was built between 1190 and 1260 and abandoned by 1300. Cliff Palace contains 23 kivas (round sunken ceremonial rooms) and 150 rooms. It had a population of approximately 100 people. We visited the park in August 1981.
