The Pikes Peak Historic Railway in Colorado Springs, Colorado, is a historic railroad line with a rich history and a special place in the hearts of many locals. The first train ran on the line in 1891, with the first passenger train making the trip up Pikes Peak in 1894. The line was built by the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad, and it was the first standard-gauge railroad to operate in the state of Colorado.
