PROWERS COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY

The Prowers County Historical Society is a non-profit organization based in Lamar, Colorado. Established in 1962, the Society is dedicated to preserving and promoting the history of Prowers County. The Society holds an extensive collection of artifacts, documents and photographs, some of which have been donated by local families. The Society’s mission is to preserve and interpret the region’s history and to make it accessible to the public.

The Society operates a museum in downtown Lamar, Colorado, which houses the permanent collection and hosts changing exhibits. The museum includes an extensive display of artifacts, documents, photographs and other items related to the history of Prowers County.
