This is a replica of the bomb that the American B-29 bomber Enola Gay dropped over the city of Hiroshima, Japan 75 years ago on August 6. The explosion killed about 40% of the residents. This was the first use of a nuclear weapon in war. Three days later, the US dropped a second atomic bomb on Nagasaki, which resulted in the surrender of Japan and the end of World War II.
