The St. Vrain Historical Society Inc. of Longmont, Colorado was founded in 1966 by a group of local citizens who wanted to preserve and share the area’s history. The Society is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation of the history, culture, and heritage of Longmont and the St. Vrain Valley for the benefit of the community. The Society’s collections include photographs, documents, artifacts, and other media that document the area’s people, places, and events. The Society hosts educational programs and special events, such as guided tours, lectures, and workshops. It also maintains a research library and museum.
