The Byers-Evans House is a historic house museum located in downtown Denver, Colorado. Built in 1883, it is one of the most intact examples of late-Victorian architecture in the city. The house is named for its original owners, William Byers and his wife, Amanda Byers, and their daughter, Margaret Evans.

The house is a two-story brick Queen Anne-style structure with a symmetrical façade and a two-story side wing. The house has a hipped roof, ornamental chimneys, and a wrap-around porch on the main façade. The house retains its original woodwork, including the hand-carved staircase and the ornate mantels. It also has leaded and stained glass windows, a variety of wood and tile floors, and a parlor with an original gaslight chandelier.

The house is furnished with period pieces, including furniture, paintings, and decorative items that belonged to the Byers and Evans families. The house also has a collection of artifacts from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, such as photographs, books, and clothing.

The Byers-Evans House was designated as a Denver Landmark in 1969 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971. It is now operated as a museum by the Colorado Historical Society and open to the public six days a week.

BA53 Nuclear Bomb Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum *The BA53 variant without fins was meant for internal carry in the bomb pod on the B-58 Hustler B53 Nuclear Bomb The Mk/B53 was a high-yield bunker buster thermonuclear weapon developed by the United States during the Cold War. Deployed on Strategic Air Command bombers, the B53, with a yield of 9 megatons, was the most powerful weapon in the U.S. nuclear arsenal after the last B41 nuclear bombs were retired in 1976. The B53 was the basis of the W-53 warhead carried by the Titan II Missile, which was decommissioned in 1987. Although not in active service for many years before 2010, fifty B53s were retained during that time as part of the "Hedge" portion of the Enduring Stockpile until its complete dismantling in 2011. The last B53 was disassembled on 25 October 2011, a year ahead of schedule. With its retirement, the largest bomb currently in service in the U.S. nuclear arsenal is the B83, with a maximum yield of 1.2 megatons. The B53 was replaced in the bunker-busting role by a variant of the two-stage B61 nuclear bomb. B28RE Nuclear Bomb Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum Mk28/B28RE Hydrogen Bomb The Mk28 hydrogen bomb, although first produced in 1958, remained an active item until 1991. It was designed to be carried by various fighter and bomber aircraft (F-100, F-104, F-105, B-47, B-52, and B-66). This weapon is capable of a ground or air burst and may be carried internally or externally, with a free-fall or parachute retarded drop, depending upon its configuration. The W28 small diameter, light weight thermonuclear warhead in Mk28 became the most versatile and widely used design ever adopted by the United States. This tactical and strategic thermonuclear bomb had the longest US service duration (33 years) and 2nd largest production run of any U.S. weapon design with over 4500 produced. The last weapons were retired from the U.S. arsenal in 1991. The Mk-28 employed the "Building Block" principle, permitting various combinations of components to be combined: B28EX -Carried externally by F-100, F-105, and F-4; no parachute. B28RE - Carried externally; equipped with one 4-ft. pilot chute and one 28 ft. ribbon chute. B28IN - Carried internally by B-52 and F-105; no parachute. B28RI - Carried internally; equipped with one 4-ft. pilot parachute, one 16.5-ft. ribbon extraction chute, one 64-ft. solid chute, and one 30-in. stabilization chute. B43 Nuclear Bomb Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum For more than twenty years the B43 was the United States' air-dropped nuclear weapon used by a wide variety of aircraft. The weapon was developed in 1956 by Los Alamos National Laboratory, entering service in April 1961. Total production was 2,000 weapons, ending in 1965. The B43 was built in three variants: Mod 0, Mod 1, and Mod 2, each with five yield options. Explosive yields varied from 70 kilotons of TNT to 1 megaton of TNT. The B-43 could be delivered at altitudes as low as 300 ft, with fusing options for air burst, ground burst, free fall, contact, or laydown delivery - a mode of deploying a free-fall nuclear weapon in which the bomb's fall is slowed by parachute so that it actually lands on the ground before detonating. Aircraft that could carry the weapon included most USAF, USN and USMC fighters, bombers and attack aircraft, including the A-3 Skywarrior, A-4 Skyhawk, A-5 Vigilante, A-6 Intruder, A-7 Corsair II, B-47 Stratojet, B-52 Stratofortress, F-100 Super Saber, F-105 Thunderchief, F-4 Phantom Il, F-111 Aardvark, FB-111A, F-15E Strike Eagle, F-16 Fighting Falcon, and the F/A-18 Hornet. On 17 January 1966, during a mid-air refueling operation, a U.S. Air Force B-52 bomber collided with a KC-135 tanker over the coast of southern Spain near the village of Palomares. Both aircraft were destroyed and 7 of the 11 crew members onboard perished. The B-52 carried four B28 nuclear weapons. Parachutes deployed for two weapons. One bomb was recovered intact from a dry river bed east of Palomares and the other was recovered intact from the Mediterranean seabed 5 miles offshore 80 days later. Parachutes failed to deploy for two weapons which underwent high explosive detonation. One landed less than a mile west of the village and the other landed at the eastern edge. This resulted in various amounts of radioactive contamination over 558 acres.
