Leonis Adobe Museum is located in Calabasas, California and is a National Historic Landmark. Built in 1844 by Vicente de Leonis, the adobe is one of the oldest surviving structures in Los Angeles County. The museum preserves the original adobe building, which is furnished with artifacts of the Leonis family, who lived in the adobe from 1844 to 1963.
The Leonis Adobe Museum's grounds cover 23 acres, with a large barn, windmills, gardens, grapevines, and a replica of a working blacksmith shop. Visitors can walk around the grounds and explore the buildings and visit the animal area, which features some of the original animals that were kept by the Leonis family. The museum also features a small collection of artifacts from the original inhabitants of the area, the Chumash people.
