The Roebuck Springs Historic Preservation Society is a non-profit organization based in Birmingham, Alabama. Founded in 1984, the Society is committed to preserving, protecting, and promoting the history and culture of Roebuck Springs. The area of Roebuck Springs is located in the city of Birmingham and contains one of the city's oldest neighborhoods.
The Society works to preserve the legacy of Roebuck Springs by collecting, preserving, and interpreting artifacts, documents, and photographs related to the area's history. The Society also sponsors educational programs, lectures, and exhibits to foster an understanding of local history and to provide an opportunity to learn more.
The Society’s focus is on architectural preservation and promoting the preservation of homes, churches, schools and other structures that are important to the area’s history. The Society also sponsors various events throughout the year including the Roebuck Springs Festival and the Roebuck Springs Preservation Awards.
The Society is also active in the community, working with local schools, churches, and other organizations to promote awareness of the history and culture of the area. The Society is actively involved in the preservation and restoration of historic landmarks in the area, including the historic Roebuck Springs Golf Club.
The Roebuck Springs Historic Preservation Society is dedicated to preserving the history and culture of the Roebuck Springs community for future generations. By preserving and promoting the area’s history, the Society is helping to ensure that the unique cultural heritage of Roebuck Springs is remembered and appreciated.
