The Museum Educators of Southern California (MESC) is a professional organization dedicated to connecting, supporting, and advocating for museum educators from all types of museums located in Southern California. MESC’s mission is to promote and support excellence in museum education by providing a forum for the exchange of ideas, resources, and professional development opportunities. The organization serves over 200 members from Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Ventura counties.
MESC is committed to providing museum educators with resources, networking opportunities, and professional development opportunities. Each year, MESC hosts a variety of events, including professional development workshops, networking events, and the annual MESC conference. The conference provides museum educators with an opportunity to learn from each other, network with colleagues, and access resources related to museum education.
Additionally, MESC offers a variety of professional development resources and programs, including an annual mini-grant program, which provides grants of up to $500 to support museum educators in the implementation of innovative educational programs or projects.
MESC’s members are dedicated to helping museum educators succeed and support one another, and they strive to make the organization a welcoming and inclusive space for all. MESC is committed to promoting diversity and inclusivity in the field of museum education, and they are always looking for ways to expand and improve their services.
