The Canoga Owens Mouth Historical Society is a non-profit organization located in Canoga Park, California. It is dedicated to the research, preservation, and promotion of the rich historical and cultural heritage of the Canoga Owens Mouth area. Founded in 1974, their mission is to collect, document, preserve, and interpret the stories of the people who have lived and worked in this area of the San Fernando Valley since its settlement in 1887.

The Society is a member of the California Historical Society and the Los Angeles County Historical Society, and is affiliated with the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Its collections include items such as photographs, documents, artifacts, and oral histories, pertaining to the history of the area.

The Society organizes a variety of events and activities for the public to participate in, including lectures, workshops, and tours. It also offers educational programs for students and adults, including classes in local history, genealogy, and preservation. They also host a number of special events throughout the year, such as their annual Owensmouth Festival and their winter holiday celebration.

Lysistrata Haranguing the Athenian Women This drawing by Aubrey Beardsley from 1896 is from a series illustrating Aristophanes' play <i>Lysistrata</i>. It depicts Lysistrata exhorting the Athenian women to abstain from sex with their husbands until peace has been declared. In the Art Nouveau style, it is loan from the Victoria and Albert Museum to the Getty Museum in Los Angeles.
