The Japanese American National Museum (JANM) is located in Los Angeles, California and is the largest museum in the United States dedicated to sharing the experience of Americans of Japanese ancestry. Founded in 1985, it is an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution.

The museum’s mission is to promote understanding and appreciation of America’s ethnic and cultural diversity by sharing the Japanese American experience. Through exhibitions, public programs, and educational resources, JANM provides a unique window into the Japanese American heritage.
