The California Archery Foundation (CAF) in Redding, CA is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1992 with the mission to promote, develop and preserve the sport of archery in California. Whiskeytown Originally a California gold rush era (mid 19th century) mining town, Whiskeytown is now at the bottom of a reservoir capable of holding about 300 million cubic meters of water. The little cemetery, however, was up in the hills and spared from inundation. But after 55 years, it was devastated in a massive wildfire. Many of its quirky homemade graves and copious decorations were reduced to ash. I visited six years after the fire and its effects are still apparent.

Charred Bird Bath I find it astonishing that this plastic bird bath survived the the fire and still stands six years later. Albeit with a lot of charring.

Bob's Many Colorful Tiles For as much as I love ornate mausoleums, heartfelt homemade graves like this one bring more joy.

Turbulence This wind toy has massively degraded in the punishing sun of lowland Shasta County. I'll wait for the next flight.
