Daniel Kottke: A Journey from Apple’s Beginnings to Artistic Reflections On the international World Photography Day may I present to you my friend Daniel Kottke, the first part-time employee of Apple Computer, and college friend of Steve Jobs. They trekked together through India for spiritual enlightenment. Jobs hired him in 1976 to assemble Apple-1, the first computer of the newly founded company. Daniel and his girlfriend came to see the opening reception of my Spirit of Japan: Then & Now photography exhibition at the Art Ark Galley in San Jose, California. After the exhibit we went to a brewery for a drink, where I took this portrait of Daniel with the vintage Dream Lens.

I processed a balanced and a photographic HDR photo from a RAW exposure, blended them selectively, carefully adjusted the color balance and curves, and desaturated the image. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.
