The Victorian Alliance in San Francisco, California, is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of Victorian architecture and culture in the city. Founded in 1985, the Alliance works to protect and promote the architectural heritage of the Victorian era, including the multitude of residential, commercial, and industrial structures built from 1849 to 1915.

The Alliance has been instrumental in the establishment of numerous preservation districts in the city, including the Filbert Steps, Telegraph Hill, Cathedral Hill, and South Park. It has also been involved in a variety of projects and activities, such as the rehabilitation of the historic Haas-Lilienthal House, the restoration of the Tiffany & Company Building, and the development of educational resources and tours.

The Victorian Alliance hosts an annual Victorian Home Tour featuring a selection of private homes and gardens, where the public can learn more about the architecture of the era. The Alliance also organizes educational programs, lectures, and workshops, and provides information and resources to the public on topics related to historic preservation. As an advocate for San Francisco’s Victorian heritage, the Alliance works closely with the city’s Planning Department, the Historic Preservation Commission, and other organizations to ensure the protection of the city’s unique architectural heritage.
