The EarlyWorks Museum Complex in Huntsville, Alabama, is a family-friendly museum and educational center. It is comprised of four distinct museums located in downtown Huntsville near the Big Spring International Park. The main museum, EarlyWorks Children's Museum, is an interactive museum designed to engage children in the history and culture of Alabama. It features exhibits that explore the state's history from the days of Native Americans to the present day. There are also interactive exhibits that teach children about the state's natural resources, science, and technology. In addition to the main museum, the complex includes the Historic Huntsville Depot, the Alabama Constitution Village, and the Huntsville Museum of Art.

The Historic Huntsville Depot is a restored 19th century train depot that served as the major transportation hub for the city during the Civil War. It includes interactive exhibits about the history of the depot, railroads, and the Civil War. The Alabama Constitution Village is a living history museum that recreates life in the early 1800s. It features costumed interpreters, artisans demonstrating traditional crafts, and historic buildings. Finally, the Huntsville Museum of Art features a variety of permanent and changing exhibitions of fine and decorative arts.

LAGEOS I Laser Geodynamics Satellite (NASA, Marshall, Archive, 1976) The LAGEOS I, Laser Geodynamics Satellite, was launched on May 4,1976 from Vandenberg Air Force Base, California. The two-foot diameter, 900-pound satellite orbited the Earth from pole to pole and measured the movements of the Earth's surface relative to earthquakes, continental drift, and other geophysical phenomena. The mirrored surface of the satellite precisely reflected laser beams from ground stations for accurate ranging measurements. Scientists at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala. came up with the idea for the satellite and built it at the Marshall Center. The 2200 Cubic-Yard Pour Crews and concrete pumper trucks work into the night pouring the foundation of Test Stand 4697 at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. The 2200-cubic-yard pour in December 2014 took nearly 14 hours. The structural test stand is one of two under construction at Marshall that are critical to development of the Space Launch System. SLS will be the world's most powerful rocket for human space exploration, able to carry astronauts in the Orion spacecraft on deep-space missions, including the journey to Mars. The 85-foot-tall Test Stand 4697 will use hydraulic cylinders to subject the liquid oxygen tank and hardware of the massive SLS core stage to the same loads and stresses it will endure during a launch. The test stand is scheduled for completion in 2016 by prime contractor Brasfield & Gorrie of Birmingham, Alabama, and several of its subcontractors. First Journey of the Palaemon Barge (NASA, Marshall, Archive, 04/17/61) On April 17, 1961, NASA's Palaemon barge embarked on its first journey from the George C. Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) in Huntsville, Ala., to Cape Canaveral, Fla. The barge carried a simulated Saturn I booster and dummy third stage, plus a 10-man crew from MSFC's Test Division. The 180-foot Palaemon and its tug traveled from the Tennessee River to the Ohio, down the Mississippi, across the Gulf of Mexico, up the Atlantic Coast, and arrived at the Cape Canaveral launch site on April 30. Named for the Greek sea-god and protector of ships, Palaemon transported Saturn stages to and from MSFC through the Apollo years.
