The San Joaquin Valley Military Historical Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and preserving the military history of the San Joaquin Valley in Fresno, California. Founded in 1983, the society is run by volunteers who share a passion for history and a commitment to educating the public about the sacrifices and achievements of military personnel throughout the Valley's history.
The society's collection includes artifacts, documents, photographs, and memorabilia from various conflicts and wars, including World War I, World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. The society also has a library of military history books and periodicals available for research and reading.
In addition to preserving and displaying military history, the society sponsors educational programs for schools and youth groups, as well as hosting events and exhibits for the general public. The San Joaquin Valley Military Historical Society is located in the Fresno Air National Guard Base and is open to the public on Saturdays from 9 am to 2 pm. Admission is free, but donations are welcome to help support the society's ongoing efforts to preserve and promote military history in the San Joaquin Valley.
