Donnell House Board Inc in Athens, AL is a full-service boarding facility for horses and other animals. This facility is situated on a large tract of land that provides a safe and secure environment for all of their customers’ animals. The facility offers boarding, training, and riding lessons. The stables are climate-controlled and have room for up to 40 horses. Each stall is spacious and well-ventilated. The stalls have an attached paddock, a water trough, and a hay rack.

The facility also has several outdoor arenas for riding and training. The arenas are well maintained and feature jumps, barrels, and other obstacles for riders to practice on. The facility also has a large round pen for more intense training sessions. The round pen has a sand and dirt surface and is designed to allow riders to practice their skills and build up their horse’s confidence.

Donnell House Board Inc also provides full-service grooming and bathing services. They also offer a variety of nutritional supplements and hay to ensure that all of their customers’ horses receive the best care possible. The staff is knowledgeable and experienced and are always willing to answer any questions or concerns that their customers may have.

Rockets Away! 2012 Student Launch Projects (NASA, Marshall, 4/22/12) Specially crafted rockets soared high into the skies April 22 at the 2011-12 NASA Student Launch Projects challenge. More than 500 students, representing 53 middle schools, high schools, colleges and universities in 28 states, launched rockets of their own design -- complete with working science payloads or engineering payloads -- at Bragg Farms in Toney, Ala. The students vied to see whose rocket could come closest to the 1-mile altitude goal and safely return its onboard science payload to Earth. Fifty-one teams took part, though two faced mechanical or technical issues and did not launch. Ten preliminary awards were presented, and the grand prize -- $5,000 from ATK Aerospace Group in Salt Lake City, Utah -- will be awarded May 18 after final post-flight analysis and review are complete. This is the fifth year ATK has sponsored Student Launch Projects. Riverwild Sculpture Garden - Decatur, AL Located at Decatur's Delano Park, the Riverwild Sculpture Garden features the artwork of locals Frank Fleming and Bruce Larsen. The archway in the front is Larsen's "Heron Great Tree Gateway" made in 2010 of steel and found objects in tribute to Margaret Palmer Vann. In the background is Fleming's "The Big Turtle" made in 2009 of bronze in memory of Elizabeth Ann Vickery.
