The Historic Governors' Mansion is a Victorian-style mansion located in Cheyenne, Wyoming. It was built in 1905 and served as the official residence of Wyoming's governors until 1976. The mansion was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

The mansion features a beautiful brick exterior with a large front porch and balcony. The interior of the mansion is decorated in the Victorian style, with ornate woodwork, stained glass windows, and period furnishings. The mansion has 30 rooms, including a grand staircase, several parlors, a dining room, and bedrooms.

Visitors to the Historic Governors' Mansion can take a guided tour of the mansion and learn about the history of Wyoming's governors and their families. The mansion also features exhibits on the architecture and design of the mansion, as well as the history of Cheyenne and Wyoming.

In addition to its historical significance, the Historic Governors' Mansion is also known for its gardens. The mansion has several formal gardens, including a rose garden and a herb garden, as well as a large lawn area for outdoor events. The mansion is open to the public year-round and is a popular destination for tourists and locals alike.

The Quintessential Wyoming Shot The drive home from Deseret Power was long, and rather than drive through Kansas a second time, we opted to pass through Wyoming and Nebraska. Cheyenne was our stop overnight, and in the morning as we headed to the car, a stack train came shooting by our hotel. Well, what better way to start a very long drive home than a quick pitstop for a photo. The legendary Archer Hill is easier to access than I realized, though it did take a bit of a walk. We got to the top of the hill just as our train, led by one of the recent UP repaints, was halfway through the huge S-curve! Our morning light was pretty head on the nose, but getting to see a big western stack train through this classic scene was pretty neat. Next time I go through Wyoming, I wouldn't mind trying to snap something else here again. It's been five years since my last visit to the state... I wonder how long it'll be till my next one. Anyway, from here on, we had a long, long day ahead of us. Thankfully, we made it to our destination in time without incident and with a couple of stops along the way.
