Appleton Art Center is a non-profit organization located in Appleton, Wisconsin. Founded in 1976, the center offers a variety of visual arts classes and programs for adults, children, and families. The facility also houses a permanent art collection and rotating exhibitions of contemporary artwork.
The Appleton Art Center has two galleries: the Main Gallery and the Community Gallery. The Main Gallery hosts six to eight rotating exhibitions annually featuring the work of local, regional, and nationally recognized artists. The Community Gallery showcases the work of local artists from the Fox Valley area.
In addition to its galleries, the Art Center offers a wide range of art classes, workshops, and special events. Classes include drawing, painting, sculpting, photography, paper arts, jewelry making, and printmaking. Community outreach programs such as the Art Reach program, which provides art classes to underserved populations, and the Art Camp program, which offers summer art camps for children, are also available.
The Art Center is open to the public six days a week and offers free admission to its galleries and gift shop. The gift shop features a variety of handmade items created by local artisans, as well as art supplies and books.
