The Green County Genealogical Society Inc. in Monroe WI is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and promotion of genealogical and historical research related to the Green County area. Established in 1975, the society’s mission is to bring together those interested in genealogy, to promote and encourage genealogical research, to collect and preserve records and documents, and to disseminate information of genealogical, biographical and historical value.

The society’s library and archives are located in the Monroe Public Library, and include a variety of resources including books, microfilm, CDs, and digitized materials. The library also contains numerous files and indexes pertaining to the Green County area, and many of the materials are available for loan to members. The society also sponsors a number of annual events, such as lectures, workshops, and seminars on topics related to genealogy research.

The society also provides a variety of services to its members, including access to its library, archival materials, and genealogical records. The society also offers assistance with genealogical research, and provides a variety of other services, including a surname registry and a message board. Additionally, the society produces a quarterly newsletter, which contains articles of local genealogical and historical interest, as well as information about upcoming events and activities.

The society is an active and vibrant organization that is committed to preserving and promoting the genealogical and historical heritage of the Green County area.
