Unexpected but Happy Mules Ear Mules ear plant that grew at our old house in Shingle Springs. This plant is native to the Sierra Nevada, not the foothills so we suspect the seeds were transported by an obliging bird.

Nobuo, March 2016 in a Sunbeam (I've probably posted this image many times - it's one of my favorites of Nobuo.) Nobuo is sitting on the living room floor, enjoying a sunbeam (the same one that warmed up Assam) in late March of 2016. Two months later, he was in Japan with Naomi and five other cats. Assam and I traveled to Japan to stay in June of 2016.
