The Douglas County Historical Society is a non-profit organization located in Superior, Wisconsin. The society was established in 1937 and is dedicated to preserving the history of Douglas County and the surrounding areas. The society operates four historic sites, including the Fairlawn Mansion, the SS Meteor Maritime Museum, the Old Firehouse and Police Museum, and the Bethany Lutheran Church Museum.

The Fairlawn Mansion was built in 1890 and is now open to the public as a historic house museum. The SS Meteor Maritime Museum is a retired Great Lakes freighter that visitors can tour and learn about the history of the shipping industry. The Old Firehouse and Police Museum showcases the history of the Superior Fire Department and Police Department through exhibits and artifacts. The Bethany Lutheran Church Museum is a restored church building that features exhibits on the history of the local Finnish community.

In addition to operating these historic sites, the Douglas County Historical Society also offers educational programs, events, and exhibits throughout the year. The society has a collection of over 30,000 artifacts, photographs, and documents related to the history of Douglas County, which are available to researchers and the public.
