BELOIT, WI

Al Capone's Vault Doors From 1928 to 1932, Al Capone moved his center of operations into the Lexington Hotel across the street from his old HQ in the Metropole Hotel and occupied the fifth floor.

Not to be confused with Geraldo Rivera's infamous "Capone's Secret Vault," the door pictured here was for a vault in Capone's office.

The Hanchett Bartlett Homestead is a historic building located in Beloit, Wisconsin. This two-story wood-frame house was constructed in 1857 and served as the home of the Hanchett and Bartlett families for over a century. The house is a fine example of the Greek Revival style of architecture and features a symmetrical facade with a central entrance, flanked by two large windows on each side. The exterior of the house is painted white and has a classic, timeless look.

The interior of the house has been restored to its original condition, with period furnishings and decorative objects. Visitors can see the original woodwork, flooring, and wallpaper, as well as the family's personal belongings. The house has four bedrooms, a parlor, a dining room, and a kitchen. The Hanchett Bartlett Homestead is a rare example of a preserved 19th-century home and offers a glimpse into the lives of the early settlers of Beloit.

Today, the Hanchett Bartlett Homestead is open to the public for guided tours and educational programs. It is a popular destination for history enthusiasts, architecture buffs, and school groups.
