WILLIAMSON AREA RAILROAD MSM

The Williamson Area Railroad MSM is a short line railroad located in Williamson, West Virginia. The railway was originally established in 2004 by the Mountain State Railroad and Logging Historical Association in order to preserve the history and heritage of railroading in the local area. The railway operates on approximately 17 miles of track, running from Williamson to Chattaroy, West Virginia.

The Williamson Area Railroad MSM serves a number of industries in the region, including timber, coal, and chemicals. The railway primarily transports raw materials and finished products between local businesses and larger rail networks. The main types of freight transported by the railway include coal, lumber, chemicals, and other bulk materials.

The railway is owned and operated by the Williamson Area Railroad MSM Corporation, which is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of local railroading history.
