Blennerhassett Island Historic State Park is a 500-acre island located in the Ohio River near Parkersburg, West Virginia. The island is named after the Blennerhassett family who once owned the island and built an extravagant mansion on the property in the early 1800s. The mansion was known for its opulence and was said to be one of the most beautiful homes in America at the time.

Today, visitors can tour the reconstructed mansion and learn about the family's history and their role in the infamous Aaron Burr conspiracy. The island also offers a variety of outdoor recreational activities such as fishing, boating, hiking, and camping.

In addition to the mansion, the island is home to a museum and visitor center that showcases the island's history and the natural environment of the Ohio River. The park also hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including reenactments, music festivals, and craft shows.

Access to the island is by boat only, with regular ferry service available from April through October. Visitors can also bring their own boats or rent canoes or kayaks to explore the surrounding waterways.
