The Seven Sisters The Pleiades (M45) is an open star cluster in the constellation Taurus. This star cluster is located about 444 light years from earth. The cluster is made up mostly of very hot blue stars, and it is passing through a dust cloud, which makes the reflection nebula we see. This photo was taken with an 80mm refractor with a 0.8x reducer, and a ZWO AS183MC camera and consists of 5hrs of integration time. Taken in Bortle 2 skies. This was a real bear to edit, because this telescope doesn't do well with bright blue stars. Unless you like magenta stars. I was going for more dust around the reflection nebula, but this was what I was able to pull out of the data. It was stacked and edited in Pixinsight.

Whitetail Deer Whitetail buck eating apples in "Hunters campground." Pretty sure this is the same deer I took pictures of earlier in the year here.
Whirlpool Galaxy Whirlpool galaxy M51, is about 31 million light years away. Magnitude 8.4 spiral galaxy in Canes Venatici. Taken with 8" SCT telescope with 6.3 reducer. ZWO ASI183MC Pro camera. Stacked, and edited in Pixinsight. This a re-edit from the photo taken on 4-30-23. Took this in the wrong file format and have had issues with it, but think I've finally fixed it.
Aerial Over Hunters Campground. An aerial photo I took over Hunters campground, Washington. This view is looking south up lake Roosevelt.
Perched Osprey Came across this Osprey while I was walking up a hill.
Pale Swallowtail Butterfly "Papilio Eurymedon" There were two of these butterflies feeding on flower nectar on this hillside. Got quite a few wonderful photo's of these.
Western Tanager A male Western Tanager. I noticed while walking around. Love his coloration
Grouse This is either a ruffled or spruce grouse. I'm not really sure, but I'm pretty sure its a female. I like pose on this one. I call it "football chicken."
Whitetail Deer Young male whitetail deer. I've seen him hanging around the area since he was a baby. Sometimes he gets super close. The background isn't the greatest, but I love the look he's giving me.
