The Concrete Heritage Museum Association (CHMA) is a non-profit organization located in Concrete, Washington. Founded in 2015, the CHMA is dedicated to preserving and celebrating the unique history and culture of Concrete and the surrounding Skagit County. The Association works to increase awareness of the area’s history and promote the development of heritage tourism in the region.
The CHMA is comprised of a diverse group of volunteers, including members of the local community, business owners, and historians. These volunteers work together to organize events, maintain a website, and develop educational materials about Concrete’s heritage.
The CHMA’s main focus is the Concrete Heritage Museum, located in the old Concrete High School building. The museum features exhibits on topics such as the area’s logging and mining history, the early settlers of Concrete, and the town’s involvement in the Pacific Northwest’s defense industry during World War II. The CHMA also hosts lectures and other events at the museum to further promote the area’s history.
The CHMA also works with local schools to provide educational resources and visits to the museum. In addition, the CHMA works with other local organizations to preserve historic sites and buildings in the area.
The Concrete Heritage Museum Association is committed to preserving the unique history and culture of Concrete and Skagit County. Through its museum and other activities, the CHMA strives to educate the public about the area’s past and to promote heritage tourism in the region.
