Scarborough Hill On the way back the trail passes a small knoll that looked reasonably clear so I decided to make this my "summit" for the day.
Scarborough Hill This marker is 1/4 mile into the summit trail. The trail is sketchy and gets evern worse from here on.
Scarborough Hill Finally back to the trail, but this section labeled "summit trail" on the map is not being maintained at all.
Scarborough Hill The bushwhacking in this area is very difficult and I gave up after a while. I didn't want to return the way I came so I picked the route that would get me back to the trail with the least distance. This was the best spot along that route and it was still difficult because of hard to see blowdown laying in the brush creating holes.
Scarborough Hill This is the multi-tree blowdown that blocks the last part of the summit trail. I was able to crawl over it with difficulty, but the trail on the other side is indistinct. I decided to try bushwhacking toward the local high point.
