CONNELL HERITAGE FOUNDATION

CONNELL, WA

Stopping to take in the vastness of an area I call "the Great Plains of Washington." For most of the mileage on this trip, I was a passenger in a car. Val had a bike rack so I could take my bike for use around Pullman.

Val, Kim and me had a fun time crossing the state. Lots of time for conversation.

I was tempted to try biking across the state to this our 50th high school reunion; like I did to the 40th, but I'm 10 years older and the reunion was in early August; the hottest time of the year; 90+ degrees with water and motels far apart.

I did bike across the state as recently as 2022, but that trip was in June when temperatures were in the low 70s.

For the August reunion, it made sense to go with Val plus the good conversations we had on the way.

I didn't go to my 10th reunion.

I biked to the 20th.

Val drove me to the 30th (my long vacation was at another time that summer).

I biked to the 40th and Val took me to the 50th.
