The Vancouver Barracks Military Association (VBMA) is a non-profit organization located in Vancouver, Washington. Established in 1942, the VBMA is dedicated to the preservation, promotion and celebration of the history of the Vancouver Barracks and its role in the development of the Pacific Northwest.
The VBMA is open to both military and civilian members, who are encouraged to participate in the activities and events the organization sponsors. The VBMA has a strong presence in the community, with its members actively involved in local events such as Memorial Day and 4th of July celebrations.
The VBMA is a proud supporter of the Vancouver National Historic Reserve. This reserve includes the historic Fort Vancouver, the U.S. Army Reserve Center, and other key sites associated with the history of the Vancouver Barracks. These sites are open to the public and are preserved and maintained by the VBMA.
The VBMA also hosts a variety of educational programs, such as lectures and presentations, designed to increase public awareness of the Vancouver Barracks' history. Additionally, the VBMA is responsible for the restoration and preservation of the Vancouver Barracks Museum, which is home to an extensive collection of artifacts, photographs, documents, and other items related to the history of the barracks.
The VBMA is committed to honoring the legacy of the Vancouver Barracks, and continues to work to ensure the site's preservation and educational value for generations to come.
