The Sunnyside Museum & Historical Association (SMHA) is a non-profit, volunteer organization located in Sunnyside, Washington. Founded in 1984, the SMHA seeks to preserve and interpret the history of Sunnyside and the surrounding region. The museum’s collection includes artifacts, photographs, and documents related to the history of Sunnyside and the Lower Yakima Valley.

The SMHA provides educational programs, guided tours, and special events throughout the year, including the annual Sunnyside Historical Festivals. The museum also houses a research library with a wide range of books, periodicals, and microfilm related to local history.

The SMHA is located in the historic Sunnyside Union High School building, which was built in 1924. The two-story brick building was designed in the Classical Revival style and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The museum’s exhibits include artifacts and photographs related to Sunnyside’s early days, including the original town plat map, early photographs of local landmarks, and a replica of the first telephone switchboard. The SMHA also features a rotating exhibit of artifacts from the surrounding region, such as an original quilt from the mid-1800s.

The Sunnyside Museum & Historical Association is an important part of Sunnyside’s history. Through its programs, exhibits, and research library, the SMHA helps to preserve and interpret the unique history of the Lower Yakima Valley.
