The Sunnyside Museum & Historical Association (SMHA) is a non-profit, volunteer organization located in Sunnyside, Washington. Founded in 1984, the SMHA seeks to preserve and interpret the history of Sunnyside and the surrounding region. The museum’s collection includes artifacts, photographs, and documents related to the history of Sunnyside and the Lower Yakima Valley.

The SMHA provides educational programs, guided tours, and special events throughout the year, including the annual Sunnyside Historical Festivals. The museum also houses a research library with a wide range of books, periodicals, and microfilm related to local history.

A hazard of wearing shorts during a long bicycle trip. Chain grease. I try to take a good shower at my room before using the hotel pool or hot tub, if I plan to use that.

Pool at a real fancy hotel in Prosser. Normally I couldn't afford, but off season and in Prosser instead of a place like Seattle. The next night I had to stay in another nearby motel that was almost as nice, since this one was booked.

Shoulder of Yakima Valley Highway. Looks like someone hit a light pole.

Heading home through Yakima Valley. Weather changing. Along Wine Country Trail as long as it's available.

Did Laundry at hotel in Prosser, but nearby store only sold soap in larger packages. I left it in room as it's another thing to carry on a bicycle. It was the plastic bubbles and I prefer another style, but my clothing got washed.

Transit ticket from between Prosser and Richland was only sold in packets of 10. I only needed 2, but the rest are still good if I am ever in the area again. Total price is still only pocket change compared to a motel bill. Around $1.50 per ride.

Heading home through Yakima Valley. Weather changing. There was a lightning storm east of the Tri Cities, according to KONA Radio. The announcer heard crackling in his headsets.

Where I was, near Sunnyside, was just ominous clouds, but no thunder and lightning.
