The Quinault Tribe, also known as the Quinaielt, is located in the southwestern corner of Washington State. They are a part of the Coast Salish people, an Indigenous population native to the Pacific Northwest. The Quinault Tribe is made up of four distinct groups: the Quinault, Queets, Quileute, and Hoh Tribes.
The Quinault Tribe is based in Taholah, a small coastal town on the Quinault Indian Reservation. The reservation was created in 1855 and encompasses approximately 400 square miles of land, including part of the Olympic Peninsula, the Pacific Ocean, and the Quinault River. The Quinault Tribe is the only federally recognized tribe in Grays Harbor County and is located approximately 85 miles southwest of Seattle.
